This tasty sandwich is great for any time of the year. It’s jam packed with saucy flavor and super quick and easy to prepare. You’re going to love this one!

Saucy Sausage Buns

Ingredients:4 servings

  • 4 sausage links (4 oz. each) , sliced. I used pre-cooked lowfat turkey sausage.
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 2/3 cup ginger ale
  • 2/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 3 tbs onion soup mix
  • 4 French rolls
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese

Directions:

In large saucepan, saute the sliced sausage, onion and pepper over medium heat until meat is done and veggies are soft.

Stir in ginger ale, chili sauce, jam, and soup mix. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 min, stirring occasionally.

Sauce will thicken as it cooks. Look at the YUM! Is your mouth watering yet?

Put the saucy sausage mixture on the roll, sprinkle a little cheese on top and put in 350 oven for a few minutes until cheese is melted.

Enjoy!
