http://www.parkerperformanceca.com/images/index.php/opinion-essay-writing/I realize this is hard to believe, but do you know there are regular readers of Coffee Break with Liz and Kate who don’t even drink coffee? Amazing, isn’t it?

OK, so it’s probably not all that amazing. In fact, Kate doesn’t drink coffee either. But as you well know, I drink coffee – and I love it – especially if it’s CaffeMarco, the best coffee I’ve ever had, hands down. But I digress.

Anywho, Marsha, my dear friend, and gardening and cooking mentor, doesn’t like coffee either. She’s usually reading Coffee Break with an ice cold Mt. Dew. But lately, she’s decided to shake things up a bit.

Every morning, she fixes two pots of coffee – most of which gets poured into a thermos and sent to work with her husband Tim. But there’s always about half a cup left over.

So instead of wasting the leftovers, Marsha came up with her own quick and easy chocolately coffee drink. If this keeps up, I could have her drinking CaffeMarco in no time! Anywho, here’s her recipe:

Chocolate Iced Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2-3 heaping teaspoons of NesQuik
  • 1/2 cup coffee
  • Ice

Directions:

Pour Nesquik and milk into a large glass, stirring well.  Add coffee, giving the drink another quick stir or two. Add ice and enjoy!

Marsha calls it her “quick pick-me-up”! She’s also known for making double chocolate espresso cookies with the left0ver coffee… but that’s another post entirely :-)

Give this oh-so-simple drink a try the next time you take a coffee break… with Liz and Kate!

-Liz

Liz, I know it’s hard for you to imagine anyone actually making it through the day without coffee, however, I assure you it is possible if I have a supply of Coke Zero nearby. I gave Marsha’s Chocolate Iced Coffee a try this morning, but replaced the 1/2 cup coffee with Pero (if you’ve never heard of Pero, check it out here – www.perous.com/) It was very yummy. Thanks Marsha (and Liz).

That’s pretty funny, Kate. Leave it to you to bring us something that’s  “coffee-like” in taste. Is there something wrong with decaf? Or are you just trying to keep people on their toes? Seriously, it’s cool that they have their own list of recipes. Maybe Marsha needs to hook up with these people. Meanwhile I think I’ll have a cup of CaffeMarco :-)
