Liz’s rant: Get in your cupcake and drive
If that didn’t get your attention, I suspect nothing will. But here’s the thing: I’m not kidding.
Yep, this year’s Neiman Marcus catalog features a rather sweet treat for the kids who have everything – an electric car in the shape of a cupcake. True story. Seriously.
Available in several different flavors (really…), this drive-able confection racks up a top speed of 7 mph.
Because I didn’t see a technical description or blueprint, I’m clueless as to
how one would enter the cupcake. Maybe the icing lifts up.
Maybe a trap door in the cake springs open. I think what’s really important here is it can be yours for the low, low, low price of $25,000. Maybe I’ll get two of ‘em.
Of course, this isn’t all that the upscale retailer is taunting Santa to deliver this year. The world’s fastest electric motorcycle is up for grabs (roughly $73K), as is a tricked-out Jaguar, complete with leather-matching luggage ($105K). Maybe a two-seater aircraft (with training) is more up your alley ($250K).
At this point, I think it’s important to mention that this year’s gifts from Neiman are scaled down price-wise. Unfortunately, we missed out on the $20 million submarine offered in 2000.
If you’re still searching for the perfect holiday gifts (but how could you be with the above offerings?) check out these bargains, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal. You’ll need to act fast though. Only 74 shopping days left…
