Kate’s Escapades – and the Oscar goes to…
I’ll admit it, I have an Oscar obsession (the awards show, not the lunch meat, although I have been known to enjoy an occasional 98% fat free bologna sandwich, however never on an actual Oscar night). Not once in the past 25 years have I missed the Academy Awards show. First and foremost, I am a huge fan of going to the movies, which just happens to work out nicely for me since I also get to review these movies for you. (Movie Reviews by Kate) But aside from that fact, I also love the Oscar hype, the pre shows, the pre-shows to the pre-shows, the after shows, and the the glitz and glam of it all…
Several weeks ago I ran a story letting our readers make their own Oscar predictions. Take a peek at how we did.

So readers, it seems we do indeed know our movies. Five out of the tip six categories right! I am impressed!
My pick for the best acceptance speech goes to Sandra Bullock.

Good Morning! Great job on the predictions. I loved the Oscar attire and the actors and actresses who received the awards, but I can’t say I enjoyed the hosts, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin and the producing of the show. Seemed very forced and not in sync….I hated the fact that not enough time was given (as usual) for recipients to give their speeches and were rushed. I miss the days of Billy Crystal hosting….his were so entertaining. And at the end, when they ran those snippets and long credits, that time could have been used for speeches. The “Precious” writer was even Kanye’d! And the fact that Farrah Fawcett and others weren’t shown in the “In Memoriam” segment is almost unforgivable. Wait a minute….I’m ranting like Liz! I’m taking too many Coffee Breaks(with Liz and Kate)! LOL
Thanks Karen. You can never take too many coffee breaks with Liz and Kate. And I would have to agree with you on your Oscar show critique.
