Get your party on: 3/7-3/13
Please remain calm on March 9. Trust me, the sky isn’t falling. It is, however, Panic Day. I tend to panic enough as it is. So let’s skip over this little jewel.
On March 10, we celebrate Middle Name Pride Day. I’m for nixing this holiday, too – never really liked my middle name (Dawne – don’t forget the ‘e’ on the end, please). Sorry, Mom and Dad. Luckily, I never use my middle name.
Next up, we have Worship of Tools Day on March 11. While I’m sure our male readers (and perhaps some females out there) may be dragging out the drill bits in giddy anticipation, worshiping tools sounds like a one-way trip to Hades if you ask me.
Needless to say, I wasn’t very impressed with the choices this week – until I stumbled upon our next holiday.
Do you own champion ear protectors – or even know what champion ear protectors are? Patented March 13, 1877, by Chester Greenwood, the protectors later became known as ear mufflers, and eventually just ear muffs. I’d venture we’ve all had a pair of champion ear protectors at one point or another. (Kind of a catchy little name, isn’t it?)
To commemorate the day of patent, March 13 is Earmuff Day. Although the forecast is calling for temps to hover around the 50-degree mark, it seems only fitting that we all wear our champion ear protectors for good measure.
And if you don’t own any champion ear protectors, this may be a good day to think ahead. With spring just around the corner, I’ll remind you again not to panic. You may be able to pick up a pair at a bargain basement close-out price.
Until next week, get your party on!
