Coffee Break with Liz and Kate » Let's Celebrate » introduction to lab report the first full week of Daylight Saving Time behind us, I must admit, I still haven’t adjusted. Neverthess, the holidays don’t wait for me to catch up on sleep. They just keep coming. First up is International Goof-Off Day, which is celebrated on March 22. Since it falls on a Monday this year, we may be short on goof-off time, but I suggest you find a way to make time – even if only for 15 minutes.

March 23 is Near Miss Day, marking the date in 1989 when a mountain-sized asteroid came within 500,000 miles of hitting the earth. Sounds  like a far miss to me, but I’m no scientist. Other “near misses” include an asteroid measuring roughly 300 feet long that came within 288,000 miles of the earth in 2002. In 2003, a 33-footer came within 54,700 miles of earth.
Some say a direct hit long ago caused the extinction of dinosaurs. Maybe it also created aliens. Why they couldn’t combine EAD and this day is anyone’s guess.

Put on your thinking caps and get creative on March 26 for  Make Up Your Own Holiday Day. I tend to think we have enough holidays as it is, and see no real need to add to the mix. I could be persuaded if you come up with something stellar, though.

Quirky County Music Song Titles Day is March 27.

Here’s an extensive list of songs that fit the bill. If you can think of others, please share! Meanwhile, here’s a good one to listen to:

March is also Viagra Day.  After all those quirky song titles, I’m not even going there, so until next week, get your party on!
