America’s Got Talent – Season 4 Semi Finals 9/09/09

AGTThis week on America’s Got Talent (Episode 423 …the audience picked the last 5 acts to move on to the finals, which will be shown on MONDAY (instead of the usual Tues/Wed format.) Here’s a recap of the acts this week with pics and judges comments and…the results.

Recycled Percussion is the first act to go on stage in the semifinals. They use the backdrop of a body shop and different props in their performance, and the audience goes wild. Piers likes how the guys are creative and inventive; Sharon agrees with Piers. David is sure these guys will end up in the finals.

The second act to hit the stage in the semifinals is Lawrence Beamen. He performs Alicia Keys' "Fallin'" and receives a standing ovation when he's finished. Sharon loves Lawrence's voice, but thinks his singing was a little all over the place, David thinks Lawrence chose a great song, and Piers admits he wasn't a big fan of the performance.

David thinks the act is great and says the kids are ready for Vegas, Piers thought it was a bad song choice for the kids to dance to, and Sharon found no faults in the performance.

Pianist Jeffrey Ou plays the piano and controls the strobe lights with every key he hits. Piers loses patience and pushes his "X" button. Piers thought the entire performance was out of control, much like his hair, Sharon thinks the piano-playing as a bit out there, and David agrees with Sharon.

Hairo Torres is the next act to perform and sets the scene to a high school dance as he performs his own unique dance moves. The audience cheers on the performance and gives Hairo a standing ovation. Sharon enjoys Hairo's new dance steps, David calls Hairo's entire performance entertaining, and Piers agrees with David's comments.

The EriAm Sisters take the stage to sing a ballad to the audience. Piers thought the girls were a bit shaky in the beginning, but they later showed their confidence on stage, Sharon agrees with Piers' comments and thinks the girls need to work on their arrangement, and David thinks the girls finished strong in their performance.

He tells the duo that they blew the entire performance, Sharon disagrees with Piers and thinks they are ready for Vegas, and David agrees with Sharon and thinks the husband and wife are entertaining.

Barbara Padilla closes the show with her opera singing performance. Piers says Barbara's performance left him speechless; he tells her that she was made to be a superstar, which brings tears to Barbara's eyes. Sharon loves how Barbara goes beyond in her performance and she bows down to Barbara, and David calls Barbara's performed blessed.
